  i wen't to the district convention 2 years ago, the talk was on "sacrifices," a pioneer couple were interviewed by the c.o.

  they had pioneered for many years with two kids, the dad worked part time.

  they explianed how money was "tight" for them many times.

  The Yearbooks are FULL of these examples of "Jehovah providing." I remember one where a family had nothing to eat...until an armadillo walked past there house. Others of pioneers enduring freezing accomadation...e.g " While sleeping their hair froze to the trailer they lived in." Meanwhile Rutherford lived in Bethsarim sitting by the pool...sipping from a bucket of whiskey, eating doughnuts from Sweden....not far.

  Watchtower articles on Muslim religion? Are they afraid to speak out?

  can anybody quote any articles which speak out against the radical muslim terrorists?.

  the watchtower made its reputation in the 1900's slamming catholicism and christendom.

  surely you'd expect them to lash out against the muslim extremes.. or, are they afraid to do so?.

  The yellow book "What has religion done for mankind? {1950's} slammed the muslims saying that Muhamed and Islam was from Satan. It was very in your face...and so the Witnesses and this book were banned in many countries e.g Indonisia. The "Mankind search for God." book {1990} took a softer and tactful aproach to the Muslim issue. I think there more worried about getting the preaching work legally established like in Mongolia the Witnesses are finally making head way.

  So Vitty! It's true? You became a Witness thanks to the Exorcist. Well I know a person who studied becuase of Terminator 2 -Judgement day. The scene where everything is burning in a nuclear fire...another studied during the 1st gulf war...then quit when it ended. It's all fear control.

  Awake 80 12/8p.11 "One young man engaged in {UFO} spotting there {stonehenge} he saw many phenomena...he became a reader of books on the subject...He says "My personality changed, I started to believe I was a prophet, someone special with a work to do. I developed extraordinary powers and was able to go days on end without food, drink or sleep. I COULD EVEN OPEN A PAIR OF CUTAINS SIMPLY BY LOOKING AT THEM.   I wen't to the District Convention 2 years ago, The talk was on "sacrifices," a pioneer couple were interviewed by the C.O. They had Pioneered for many years with two kids, the dad worked part time. They explianed how money was "tight" for them many times. One time they repaired their old car and had no money for groceries. On their way home they found a buch of vegetables in the gutter where a goods truck would pass everyday. They had many handfuls of food to take home tonight! Thanks to Jehovah they were never hungry...I nearly felll off my chair, I felt like rushing the stage and bitch slapping both parents! Luckly I was late that morning, and sitting 4 stories up! Get a job you bum, your kid's live in the western world and their eating from the gutter!! I told my Witness wife how angry I was, she said that it was not "so very encouraging." Im sick of these pioneer stories of poverty, "I had no shoes then someone gave me $50 buucks crap...while the Watchtower is a richy rich ORG. Have you heard any "pioneer stories?"

  Awake magazine always tells you who they qouted...very strange! In my cong. a sister went to see ghost busters and had a panic "demon" attack, and was taken to the emergency room. I remember reading these articles. I wasn't allowed to see these films for many decades. Today I own a DVD of both but no demons attack me ...except my wife who wan'ts me to "get rid of your horror movies."

  three years ago, the buzz was "its just around the corner".. two years ago, it was "almost at the door".. one year ago it was "at the threshold".. now the watchword is "the door of the ark is closing".. could it be that the new "members only" publications will now isolate a small inner core of this group?

  I'm sorry to tell you this but Armegedon IS on it's way. One day 1000 of years from now our Sun will go Supernova, and it will be acomplished! Futuristic Witnesses will dance for joy! Global warming is a fad of our generation. Some scientist and Al Gore, predict "Noah Style" that half the world will be under water soon,...aaarrraag Armegedon! Where do they get this data from! Who came up with this theory and how? Many famous scientists around the world say that global warming and cooling, has happened millions of times over earths history. {Check the debates on the net} Are we being brainwashed again! Many Newsweek article from 1970's had scentists argue the world was COOLING. The arctic region would become so heavy from snow, that it could shift the planets axis!!!! Also from the 1980's "The jupiter menece" the solar system planets would be aligned cuasing massive destruction in the beginning of 2000!! Again nothing. That was the 1970-80 panic when I grew up. More panic to scare people. I do agree something should be done about pollution a major problem. But be a good Witness and look at both sides of the arguement. This world is here to stay for a very long time. The sky is not falling go enjoy your life.

She had heard so much about the film, she decided to go see it with a friend. The results were dramatic. "It was the most terrifying thing I have ever seen. It was horrible. I could feel something was happening to me. I was shaking all over, and could just manage to pick myself up from the seat to walk out. But this was only the beginning of my troubles. Returning home, I was ready to burst into tears. My husband offered me little comfort as he had told me not to go see the film. How right he was! I could not sleep that night, dreaming about the film. During the coming weeks things went from bad to worse. I was frightened to go to bed. And when I did, I would wake up in a cold sweat. I knew THERE WAS SOMETHING IN MY HOUSE AS I COULD FEEL IT WITH ME WHERE EVER I WENT. I felt I was going out of my mind.....I knew a family of Jehovah's Witnesses living nearby and jump at the opportunity to study the bible with them..."

  Luckly she became a Witness and was saved from the Demons! The editor of Awake had 5 months earlier printed this...

  Awake 80 7/22 p.31 "TV TRIGGERS TERROR! - When the motion picture "The Exorcist 2" was shown recently on U.S television, a mother and her 4 year old daughter in Whichita falls, Texas, reportedly watched it together. One scene is said to show the cutting out of a girl's heart to get rid of a demon. The little Texas girl was found murdered in the same fashion. Her mother was charged with homicide.

  Now notice how strange that this article shows no newspaper reference or qoutes. It is very hard to check the whole story...was the woman suffering from mental illness or drugs? Who said this happened for real? The only refernce is where it happened and I have been un-able to find the original article anywhere. So I guess you will have to take Awakes word for it.

  Japan closes 638 Congregations!!!!! Why???

  japan since the 1970''s has had amazing publisher increases!

  every year the number of witnesses shot up by many thousands.

  this peaked in 1998, since then the number of witnesses and congregations has continued to drop!.
